What is Solar Power?

  • Solar power is energy which comes from the sun.

  • Sunlight is converted directly into electricity using photovoltaics (PV).

  • Solar power will save you money and help change the world!

How do solar panels provide electricity to my home?

  1. 1Sunlight is converted into DC electricity through the solar panels.

  2. An inverter then converts the DC electricity into 240AC electricity (household electricity).

  3. The electricity is passed into your meter and then transferred onto the electricity grid.

What size solar system do I need to install?

Every home and business is different, so the size of your system will depend on your energy needs, roof space and solar goals. Residential solar power systems are typically 3-10 kW and commercial solar power systems range from 50–500 kW for a medium sized business. Sydney Solar Electricity will custom design a solar power system to meet your specific needs and offset as much of your utility bill as you require.

What ongoing maintenance is required?

Your solar energy system requires occasional cleaning and inspection. We suggest that you keep an eye on trees that may shade or cause leaf build up. Have our team at Sydney Solar Electricity visit annually or Bi annually to Clean and service your system.

What is a grid connect solar power system?

Grid connect systems, They supply solar electricity via Photovoltaic Panels, then through an inverter directly to the household and to the electricity grid if the system is providing more energy than the house needs. Then the power is supplied to the mains grid, the home owner usually receives a credit or a payment for that electricity. This is called a feed in tariff.
